jeon wonwoo's invincible summer --
Wonwoo thinks about this on the train back from Changwon, staring out the window as the scenery flies by, head leaning against the headrest, and Wonwoo thinks that there are just some things you have to carry by yourself because they’re so deep within you that once you dig them up and hand them to someone else, once you’re suddenly staring at it in the face, Wonwoo thinks that he’ll start to feel the burn of tears in the bridge of his nose, every unsaid word threatening to spill over.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
i guess more? my initial word count goal was 10k because i knew i'd be unable to write at all during the school year... which was surpassed in one go with jww's invincible summer... if you look at my 2018 fic goal on mywriteclub the trend line is just full of steep jumps of spontaneous fic activity lol.

mmm i guess writing for new fandoms? i've never written for nct or stray kids before because i was either intimidated or didn't think i could successfully characterize. i think i ended up taking risks in that sense!

BEST AND WORST:
My best story of the year:
i think a little bit of a no-good thing! not necessarily because it's the best of the best, but it was very fun and relaxing to write it... i wrote it in 2 days and enjoyed the entire process, which is rare when it comes to me writing!! also i just think this fic is a nice and light-hearted read + i love brian/nayeon, what can i say!

a little bit of a no-good thing. why is nayeon such a fun pov to write from!!
also bok bok, bitch. ok, actually the true process of me writing it was horrible and long because 1) i was past the deadline, 2) the fic wouldn't end!! and 3) i was still juggling internship and part-time work at this point in 2018, but i did have a lot of fun writing the strange shenanigans and backstories of everyone... also prideful neonu is my best character of all time!

jeon wonwoo's invincible summer - this fic took me 2 years to complete... it still turned out like this... i feel like at some point i just wanted to finish the fic so badly that continuity went out the window. it was hard because nothing really happens in the fic? and that it's so internally-focused that it's honestly kind of boring after a while... 2018 the year i realized my strength is writing boring, internally-focused fic!! i think i'll look back at this fic in a year or so and feel "ah, yes, that's what i was feeling at that point in my life..."
also, young gods. but it wasn't so much long-suffering as me just suffering because of approaching deadline(s). you know when you know you have to do something but knowing you have to do it makes you not want to? yeah, that was this fic TT

Biggest disappointment:
nothing? i think i'm pretty satisfied with most of my writing this year, even if i rushed some of them! i guess a disappointment would be that i wrote a lot less girl group fic, but that can be remedied in 2019 -- right?? right!! maybe that my fics weren't that long this year and that i didn't get to develop a lot of my stories as much due to time constraints.
Biggest surprise:
i actually succeeded in writing four exchange fics within one week/most of those fics within 24 hours or less... i'm not writing again until olymfics... i'm all ficc-ed out for now...

IN CONCLUSION: the amazing thing i think every year is that i'm still writing fic?? this year i learned that 1) my skill lies in writing boring fic (i.e slice-of-life in which nothing really happens), 2) never sign up for 4 exchanges with deadlines within 5 days of each other thinking "yeah!!! i can do that!!!" because... i can't... and 3) i've still got a lot to explore in my writing ♡
